About ATMI
Innovative materials. Precise solutions. Reliable expertise.
At ATMI, we've made our name by inventing hundreds of materials and materials
packaging products that help the world's leading chipmakers and flat panel
manufacturers be more efficient, more productive, and more cost-effective.
But products are just where we get started. We're experts in
creating materials that optimize manufacturing processes for these
industries. We work closely with our customers to create solutions
targeted to their particular needs, as well as with OEM and other partners to
address industry changes and trends, such as the semiconductor transition from
aluminum to copper.
Business and technology cycles are accelerating—success in any industry
requires continual adaptation to change. ATMI experts constantly
introduce new and unique materials, packaging, and processes as we solve
problems for customers and partners. These solutions increase
yields, speed new products to market, reduce capital expenditures and costs of
ownership, and mitigate risks.
ATMI then and now
In 1986, five entrepreneurs founded ATMI as Advanced Technology Materials,
Inc., to define the materials future of the semiconductor
industry. At the time, they created a company focused on
semiconductor materials for chemical vapor deposition (CVD) processes.
Today, ATMI makes materials and materials packaging for semiconductor and flat
panel manufacturers around the world—we have nearly 700 employees in more than
a dozen facilities in the United States, Europe, and
Asia. Headquartered in Danbury, CT, ATMI went public in 1993, and
now trades on the Nasdaq National Markets as "ATMI."
ATMI & SEMICON West 2005
Since our founding, ATMI has won regular acclaim for our innovation and growth.
Most recently, we have been included in the Technology Innovation Showcase at
SEMICON West 2005 for the ProE-VapTM system, our newly designed dopant delivery
system that vaporizes solid precursors. The ProE-VapTM system offers our customers a
dramatic decrease in cost of ownership by increasing materials choice and wafer
yield, while decreasing cost per wafer and tool downtime.
